"Shock Theatre" was a hosted horror movie show with Bill Norwood and later Martin Morgan presenting movies on WLOS-TV Channel 13, Asheville, North Carolina. The show ran from 20 September 1958 to 19 December 1977. It is not know how long Bill Norwood and later Martin Morgan hosted the show; and whether they had ghoulish host names or not. Norwood is reported to have presented the show dressed as a Dracula-type character similar to the "Doctor Shock" character at WTVC-TV. Shock Theatre would remain a Saturday night staple on WLOS-TV until 1961 when it was moved to Saturday afternoon where it would become a double-feature show for a period. Shock Theatre moved to Friday nights in September 1977. The last show was aired on 9 December 1977. It is likely that the show was mostly without a host.—The Professor
