Summaries

"Shock Theater" was a non hosted horror and science fiction movie show which ran from 4 September 1971 till 6 April 1974 on WVTV Channel 18, Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

WVTV used movies from the Shock. and Son of Shock. packages when it ran its "Shock Theater" on Saturday nights starting on 4 September 1971. The opening of each show used a sequence made up of clips from a variety of films, and also used the voice announcer Bob Beringer. It used as a background the Glenn Strange Frankenstein's monster photograph. The first show aired at 8:30 pm, and then was moved to 10:00 pm in the following week. It maintained this time slot until 1 January 1972, when it was moved to a double feature movie show starting at 8:00 pm. Sometimes the double feature was cut to one movie to allow other programming such as Alfred Hitchcock Hour or the Variety Club Telethon. It continued as a double feature till 16 September 1972. It then was changed to a single feature until 6 April 1974, when the show ceased.—The Professor
