Summaries

Shimul and Palash growing in their abundance of innocence, suddenly fall hard in the face of separation. Deaf and mute, their language is stronger than a language could bind. Will they manage to find respite again?

The film revolves around the lives of Shimul and Palash, a deaf and mute couple. It is a story of love and separation. Both Shimul and Palash, in one way or the other are compelled to leave the quiet and peaceful life of a village in Sunderbans and find themselves surrounded by the dark and complex alleys of the city of Kolkata. The film discovers closely how poverty and deprivation often lands people into human trafficking circuits, addiction loops, and the like. A very important aspect of this film is how it intimately delves into the daily struggles of the deaf and mutes both in urban and rural landscapes. Also, the usage of sign language is a pivotal aspect of the film. The plot opens up to a simple romantic tale initially, it evolves and explores the grey shades and contrasts of human lives.
