Synopsis

The path of love hiccups for childhood sweethearts Bill Cutler (Buster Crabbe) and Clara Berry (Sally Blane) when chirpy Texan beauty Sally Bates (Isabel Jewell) starts work at his drive-in hamburger joint. Bill's interfering mother (Maidel Turner) does her best to break up the new romance [and Bill doesn't help his cause by calling her "cheap" during a lover's tiff!]. Clara's playboy brother [Regis Toomey] is used by Sally to make Bill jealous, and when Bill accidentally kills the brother in a fight-not knowing that they have secretly married, Sally falls in with Mrs Cutler and Clara's plans to clear Bill of a possible murder charge by casing herself in a bad light. Realising however that Bill is genuinely in love with Sally, they relent and help him find her again.

Kingsley Canham, Norwich
