Summaries

The Harry T. and Harriett V. Moore Cultural Complex in Mims, Florida represents the construction of reconciliation in a community where racial tensions resulted in the murder of a civil rights activist. Harry and Harriett Moore were killed Christmas Day, 1951, on their 25th wedding anniversary. A bomb exploded beneath their Mims grove house, and although the FBI investigated the case, no one was ever prosecuted. Honors documentary students at the University of Central Florida produced this moving 15-minute documentary to highlight efforts to keep the Moore's legacy alive. The film won a national award from the Broadcast Educators Association in April, 2011.—Anonymous
