After Pearl Harbor, Alcatraz convicts Champ Larkin and Jimbo escape to a lighthouse island, taking hostages. A Nazi spy ring also targets the island, leading to a conflict between the convicts' greed and patriotism.

After Pearl Harbor, convicts at Alcatraz prison live in fear of bomb attacks, driving Champ Larkin and his pal Jimbo to a desperate escape attempt which lands them on a tiny lighthouse island, where they take over. The five inhabitants are stymied in their efforts to summon aid. But the island also figures in the schemes of a big Nazi spy ring; which will win out, the gangsters' greed or their patriotism?—Rod Crawford <[email protected]>

With the attack on Pearl Harbor, convict Champ Larkin, incarcerated at Alcatraz, believes that inmates like himself are sitting ducks in an enemy attack. As such, he is able to convince his friend Jimbo to escape with him. They are indeed able to make it off the "rock" but the tide does not take them to where Champ expects, they ending up on another rock seven miles away, what Champ believes only to be a momentary stop. The only thing on this rock is a lighthouse, which, during the war, is doing double duty in being a monitoring station for the war effort. The only four people working at the lighthouse are Captain Porter, his pretty young adult daughter Anne Porter, a salty seaman nicknamed Stormy, and young officer Paul Brenner. Champ and Jimbo are able to overtake the lighthouse, and beyond demanding some clean clothes and food, they allow the four to continue their regular communications to the outside world. In the process of dealing with the four, Champ and Jimbo discover that one of them, unknown to the other three, is a double agent in actually being a Nazi spy. While Champ starts to fall for Anne, he and Jimbo have to decide what to do with this information, balancing their freedom against possibly assisting the Nazis. The matter is only complicated when they learn the nature of the information the double agent is trying to get out to compatriots, three of who who also come to retrieve him/her from the island.—Huggo
