Artilleryman Dennis Murphy ('Ronald Reagan (I)' )qv)) is devoted to his horse, "Sergeant Murphy,", and having completed his enlistment, is trying to have his horse mustered out at the same time. By Major Gruff (William B. Davidson)has the horse transferred to the Cavalry. To still be with his horse, Dennis joins the Cavalry and, there, meets Mary Lou ('Mary McGuire (I)'), the daughter of Colonel Todd Carruthers (Donald Crisp). Because of an accident involving the horse, "Sergeant Murphy" is sold at auction, and Dennis, after his enlistment ends, sets out to find him.—Les Adams <[email protected]>
