Historical and biographical film about a remarkable Russian traveler of the XVII century, the pathfinder Semen Dezhnev (L.Buldakov), the earliest explorer of Siberian lands, who, overcoming numerous hardships, sailed by sea from a Stone Belt (Urals) to the outermost eastern point of Eurasia (now the Cape of Dezhnev), found the strait between Asia and Northern America 80 years before its discovery by Vitus Bering.
