Three young children help an old sea-man look for buried treasure at the Pirates Inn, but they're not the only ones interested in finding it.

Children Scott, Tippy, Catfish and their dog Tramp meet retired Irish sea captain Dennis McCarthy, who's moved into the town's rundown inn after the passing of his brother, Charles. They're soon embroiled in a hunt for treasure from clues left by the pirate Jean Lafitte that the captain's late brother couldn't solve. Surrounding them are a crotchety ex-caretaker, an intrepid reporter seeking a story, and a mysterious figure watching their every move, whom the kids try to identify.—statmanjeff
