Brash young Coast Guardsman Mike O'Shay (Preston Foster) and much-decorated CPO 'Medals' Malone (Victor McLaughlin) hate each other even before they meet, and their enmity isn't helped by O'Shay's attraction to Doris (Ida Lupino), Medals' daughter.
