This series follows new intern Hannah Stone as she navigates her first year at Civic Heart Medical Center. She must compete with her fellow interns, including the charming but conniving Brian and blunt but dedicated Blair, in order to become first in her cohort and secure her future at the hospital. As Hannah juggles new relationships and challenging patient cases, she also begins to develop feelings for her mentor and boss, the charismatic but mercurial Dr. Gregory Ramsey, as they secretly treat a mysterious Patient X.
