"Scream Theatre" was a non-hosted anthology (with an announcer) moving show that screened from 24 November 1978 until about 1984. The show ran on Friday nights around midnight on WXYZ-TV Channel 7, in Detroit, Michigan, USA.

The camera starts zooming on what looks like a "castle" sort of a building, the walls are a blueish colour. The camera zooms in on a small door which is oval at the top and says "WXYZ-TV" on it. There is a "tree" with no leaves on it scratching against this door making an eerie scratching noise. During this time, you begin to hear the announcer's voice says "Welcome to Channel Seven's lugubrious mausoleum of horror. This is the place where we store our forbidden collection of films, calculated to scare you to death... tonight's feature.. (etc)" - this voice was later replaced by an announcer doing a "Transylvanian" accent. The camera moves through the door and toward the back wall. The camera moves from left to right along a bookshelf on the back wall which contain "film canisters" with titles on them. The camera then pans across a table which has a film projector, a bunch of strewn unwound film a skull, and a few tarantula spiders crawling around for good measure. The camera then pans to a castle window which has a candle on it. The window flies open and the candle blows out, and the words "SCREAM THEATRE" appear in white, and you hear about 4 screams. With each scream, the "Scream Theatre" logo "throbs". With the last scream, the logo turns red and blood drips from it.—The Professor
