The story of an unlikely friendship which leads an unemployed and xenophobic German to teach a young African immigrant how to ice skate.

Willi is an unemployed electrician who has learned how to play the system. He has found ways how to make a bit of money on the side while making sure he gets all his welfare entitlements. And while he publicly complains about foreigners living in the country, he is happy to "rent" one of the flats in the derelict house whose last remaining occupant he is to a young African immigrant for a bit of cash in hand. Unexpectedly, a friendship between the two men develops and Willi starts coaching the young African to become a figure skater.
