When chaos knocks on the door a newly ordained priest has to face his demons.

Sam comes from a background filled with violence and crime. After a longer prison sentence, he decides to distance himself from violence and finds God. He trains to become a priest and gets the opportunity to start a new life in a small village in the southern Swedish countryside. When a criminal gang establishes itself in the village and attracts several of the young people, the priest is suddenly faced with the choice of acting or retreating. He chooses to retreat and one of the youths is seriously injured. The more Sam distances himself from the violence, the more influence the gang gains. When Sam finally finds himself forced to intervene, the group encounters resistance they could not have imagined. But can he return? And is violence really the salvation? Scapegoat is a drama about group affiliation, passivity, violence and about doing the right thing when there are no good alternatives.
