The engaged couple have defied their friends' expectations, turning a long friendship into romance. Thirty-six hours before the wedding the long-lost sixth friend, the former soul mate of the bride and best friend of the groom, appears at the door. A world traveler now working in construction, he arrives uninvited with his recently-paroled, ex-con buddy. As the group struggles to reacquaint themselves with their lost friend, everything begins to shift. One by one they begin to examine their own expectations, looking at themselves and their adult lives, and realizing true love looks nothing like they thought it would.
