Chandrawathi and Wilbert yearn to have children. Wilbert's job as a lorry driver takes him to different parts of the country and he has affairs with many women who bear him children. A man involved in anti-government activities seeks shelter from Chandrawathi and they fall in love making her pregnant in the process. This reveals that the children believed to be Wilbert's are not his own.
