Set in an Italian village, Santa Inocencia focuses on emblematic situations from birth to death and delves into the multitude of fears, limitations and desires that shape our existence.
The inhabitants of a small village in Italy prepare for a unique journey in search of answers to life-defining questions. In Santa Inocencia, director, writer, and choreographer Meritxell Campos Olivé descends into the subconscious, using abstract movements and strange encounters to create a surreal visual journey from birth to death. The title of the film is a tongue-in-cheek reference to the director's approach to her work, the tonality of the film itself and the plot, which is carried by a nostalgic longing for the loss of innocence.
