18 years ago, a murder case took place that shocked the nation. The victims were a couple of medical practitioners who were murdered by their teenage daughter Sayako Aoda and her boyfriend Hideyuki Obuchi (Ryosuke Hashimoto). The bodies of the victims were then dismembered. While they were on trial, Hideyuki Obuchi's autobiography was published. According to his book, he was involved in another crime in his past. The judge gave Sayako Aoda a life sentence, her sentence partially mitigated because she was brainwashed by Hideyuki Obuchi, and gave Hideyuki Obuchi the death penalty for being the main culprit. Some years later, Editor Ryo Hashimoto (Kenta Kiritani), who worked on Hideyuki Obuchi's autobiography, receives a novel proposal from a rookie writer named Sana Ogura (Kana Kurashina). The novel is motivated by the murder case involving Sayako Aoda and Hideyuki Obuchi. To publish the novel, Ryo Hashimoto and Sana Ogura begin researching the people around Sayako Aoda and Hideyuki Obuchi, including Reiko Obuchi (Misako Renbutsu), who married Hideyuki Obuchi while he was on death row, and Hideyuki Obuchi's ex-girlfriend Seiko Ichikawa (Yuki Saito). As they go deeper into the case, Ryo Hashimoto and Sana Ogura face an unexpected truth behind the murder case.—AsianWiki
