This is a dramatic story of a village girl who gets refused by his Europe returned so called modern fiance and then turned into a "modern" girl. A zaminder Nikhilesh (Uttom Kumar) comes to help her in her surprising transformation and they fall in love to each other but Nikhilesh, out of his sense of promise and duty, which he made to her father, refuses her. On the other hand the original fiance, seeing her in the way he wanted, agrees to marry her. Finally it becomes a complicated romantic drama staged in a very the then modern way.—Amit Choudhury
