The film's love story revolves around Janani(upper caste) and Chandru(lower caste). Unaware of their love, the parents of Janani try to fix her marriage with their son in law Mahesh's rogue brother. Jolted and scared by her family sudden decision, Janani secretly marries Chandru. Janani's parents are totally against the marriage which took place without their consent. However, Mahesh's senior police officer Ashok Kumar intervene and settles the matter. Trying to forget and forgive the bitter experience of marriage, parents of Janani invite the newly married couple to their home, but the couple go missing mid way. The missing couple issue creates media uproar and a public debate since Janani was a newly appointed police constable and her marriage was inter caste. The police department, unable to bear the public humility and debacle, handovers the case to crime branch's dynamic officer PrithviRaj. Thereafter the investigation takes interesting twists and turns..
