Summaries

A sailing boat is carrying two stories that run parallel to each other. One is about the loss and rekindling of a young couple losing their son. The other is about the pride and dysfunction of a father, forcing his family to the seas.

A young couple, Annika and Klas, have lost their 8-year-old son in a fire and are fighting to get back to life. To escape everyday life, they buy a used sailboat and plan a trip across the Atlantic. It turns out that the boat's previous owners were a family who also sailed out across the Atlantic. During the family's journey, both the son and the father in the family died. Annika becomes obsessed by the fate of the family, and decides to find out everything about them. The movie follows both stories in parallel.
