Eight young women disembark from a a bus to work at the Marelli family vineyards, but only seven of them were hired. The mysterious "Woman #8" (Lily St. Cyr) is no "wine girl" and "no dame", but she won't answer questions about who she is or where she came from; all she does is call herself Edella. She also happens to be "the hottest personality in the entire world" Overworked and exhausted, Edella is so eager to escape the drudgery of show business that she makes herself "disappear", and overnight she's gleefully enjoying the drudgery of picking grapes. Vineyard-owner Randy Marelli (Jock Mahoney) quickly falls in love with her. She wants to tell him who she is, but before she can, his jealous girlfriend Winnie (Laurie Mitchell) waves a newspaper headline in front of him: "Edna Missing. Renowned Exotic Dancer Disappears En Route to Los Angeles!"--and tells him to get rid of her. Even Randy's spoiled-brat stepbrother rubs it in: "Think of all the men that have looked at her...for just the price of admission." Worse, Edella's manager Walter (Robert Shayne) tracks her down and demands she leave with him.—matt-282
