Ron Finch 'That's All You Get' Is a spellbinding docu-movie and a portrait of a unique American artist. Known for his outlandish motorcycles Ron has paved ways in pin-striping, metal sculpting and is considered to be a Master of Custom painting. Having been dubbed by Ed Roth as 'Michigan's Mysterious Motorcycle Madman,' Finch's motorcycle art in the 1960's helped launch the chopper motorcycle craze. A lifetime of creativity, personal struggles, and overcoming disability is the framework for this compelling story about a young artist that had the inner strength to pass up a good job with one of the big three to follow his own dreams. From his modest beginning painting and pin-striping in a suburban Detroit garage to building an amazing and nationally famous motorcycle shop in Auburn Hills, his creations have always been inspiring.
Custom Motorcycles have helped Finch to receive worldwide acceptance and recognition in not only the U.S. and Canada, but in Germany, France, Sweden and the Netherlands. Ron's style has been labeled by some as 'Too Extreme' But his art appropriately proclaims the freedom and individualism that is so often associated with the motorcycle lifestyle.
Being the first to show a custom motorcycle in a Major Museum (1970, Detroit Institute of Arts) Ron has spent his life bringing the worlds of motorcycles and art together. Finch has evolved through the 70's, 80's, 90's, and is still setting trends at nearly 74 years of age.
Today Ron and his wife Ruth work out of a fabulous semi-private studio in Pontiac where new art, motorcycles, and METALLife Creatures are created on a daily basis.'Finchmen' join Ron, Ruth and family to build a new Studio and help inspire new bikes and art projects such as 'Chopper At Large' which comes together before your very eyes.
