Roma Morte is the last of the short films in the documentary project ANCE (Nationalist Asylum of Educational Cinefever), a completely unofficial production line inspired by the INCE (National Institute of Educational Cinema), which became a landmark in Brazilian experimental film: an official government institute created in 1936 to make films as a vehicle of popular education, comprising official news, technical and scientific exposition, as well as biographical and historical records of great Brazilian characters and cities.
