David Morton lives with two old-maid aunts. He meets lovely Gertrude and agrees to drive her injured brother's car in the Big Race. Along the way, he encounters gangsters intent on stealing the race.

Young David Morton, heir to millions, has been overzealously restrained from normal youthful activities by his two old-maid aunts, Harriet and Agatha. In a break from his confinement, he meets lovely Gertrude, and promises to race her injured brother's car in the Big Race. Between the gangsters trying to win the race by disabling him, and his bungling bodyguards trying to bring him home safely, David has a battle to win the race and Gertrude's heart. He succeeds in winning the race, capturing the gangsters, and getting his aunts to give him more freedom.—Les Adams <[email protected]>

David Morton, heir to the family millions, is not allowed to participate in potentially dangerous-activities like playing polo or flying. Harriet and Agatha, employ a servant, Parkins, and two dumb palookas, Flannagan and Mulligan, to keep David out of trouble. Frustrated, David rides his bicycle out of the exercise room, down the stairs, and out into their Fairview estate where he winds up in the pond. Later, on the advice of his physician, David escapes out the window, jumps off the roof, and takes one of the family trucks. His disappearance makes the headlines. Encountering a large Italian family in a roadster, David exchanges vehicles with them, then picks up Mickey Daniels on the road. Later he meets Gertie, who is trying to learn to drive a racing car so she can fill in for her injured brother Donald, a professional racer. David, who learned about cars from a chauffeur, offers to drive for her, and she takes him home to meet Donald and their sister Mary. David conceals his true identity, introducing himself as David Smith. Allen Chambers, one of Gertie's suitors, tries to discourage him from helping the family. Allen's father owns the First National Bank, which holds the mortgage on Gertie's house. Gertie intends to use the prize money from the race to pay off the mortgage. Meanwhile, Flannagan and Mulligan are on David's trail. They try to capture him during a barn dance, but he escapes--and is abducted by two met who are trying to sabotage his race car as they did Donald's. When they learn David's true identity, the kidnappers decide to hold him for ransom. Allen arranges for Pete to drive for Gertie, but David escapes in time to rush to the races and take his place. David wins, but the crooks steal the prize money. Determined to retrieve it, David drives the race car to the hideout where he was held and captures the criminals with help from Mickey, Flannagan, and Mulligan. Harriet comes to take David home, announces she has bought him a polo pony, and invites Gertie to visit for the weekend. The prize money secured, David and Gertie kiss, and Mary and Mickey kiss.
