A man builds up an orphanage out of a scheme to come into an inheritance, but gradually grows genuinely fond of the children sheltered there.
In order to recieve his part of his family's inheritance, a man named Álvaro del Solar creates an orphanage for a group of homeless children he tooks off the streets, so his grandmother would recognize his benevolence. The children are led by Lucas, to whom Álvaro asks for help in his plans. The kids accept the conditions imposed by Álvaro, but soon they start asking for money in return for their "favor". Álvro is thus forced to take care of those children and find them a place to live. The place where theu settle in is a manor haunted by terrible stories and secrets. Álvaro hires a young woman from the countryside, Soledad Acosta, to be in charge of the children. Soledad actually wants to figure out the truth about the supposed accident that her ex-fiancée Santiago suffered at the Del Solar factory. Álvaro and Soledad's tense acquaintanceship is developed into a love story, as she changes him using her life experience and understanding. His house as well is changed with him, and no longer a farce, the place is turned into a real orphanage - the manor Rincón De Luz, a refuge for those who have good feelings and hope.
