Alicia, an Ecuadorian mother, mysteriously disappears after consulting a shaman with her children. Left to fend for themselves, 12-year-old Lois and 8-year-old Inés must survive alone and confront their fears and their past.
Alicia, a 40-year-old Ecuadorian mother living in Belgium, is struggling to raise her two children, 12-year-old Lois and 8-year-old Inés, after fleeing an abusive and alcoholic husband. She works as a housekeeper to make ends meet, but her financial situation remains dire. Isolated and desperate, Alicia seeks help from a shaman, along with her children, who teaches them spiritual methods to achieve their goals. The next day, Lois and Inés realize that their mother has mysteriously vanished from their home. Left to fend for themselves, the children, fearful of being sent back to the orphanage, decide to survive on their own. Each passing day brings new challenges as they search for answers about their mother's disappearance.—Velez, Irina
