A well-known reporter goes on the run from the police after becoming a suspect in a homicide.

Reporter Raju is an honest, daring and quality reporter, works for his editor, Sharma. Raju is called by a nurse to Royal Theatre for a program - in fact a secret mission. Here she promises to meet him in his own house after the program has ended. When Raju reaches his home, she tells him that a royal patient had died in the City hospital. The patient disclosed to her that a man with 4 and a half fingers has plotted to kill the heir to his vast estates. Bombay-based News Reporter Rajkumar lives a middle-classed lifestyle along with his sister, Vimal, who is engaged to Inspector Madan, while his ailing mother lives in Belapur. He singlehandedly foils a robbery and is not only honored but also given a blank cheque by a rival publisher - which he refuses. An unknown woman telephones him and asks him to meet at National Park, which he does, but the woman claims she is being followed, and wants to meet him at his residence. He agrees to meets with her, she turns out to be Nurse Kanta and tells him that she was given information from a dying hospital patient that Rajkumar Bimal will be killed while watching a performance at the Royal Theatre. Shortly after that Kanta is killed, and Rajkumar goes on the run.
