David's classmate Jochem is bullied because he is too heavy. Although David increasingly stands up to the bullying, it turns out to be too late.
A story about harassment in high school. A young boy is being harassed by his classmates, and as a result, he commits suicide. This is where classmates and the school board start scratching their heads--after it's too late. This film is based on a book by popular Dutch author Carry Slee.—Rob
Dutch model high-school student David tries in vain to stop clumsy, shy, chubby but musically-gifted classmate Jochem from being constantly bullied by the cool gang, especially Sanne, against whom only Vera dares to speak up after finding Jochem at the animal asylum where she volunteers. David extends friendship to Jochem, delighting his wealthy but naive parents as well. The clueless PE teacher hosts a class party at his home, 'overlooking' forbidden alcohol, which leads to drunken abuse, while David leaves with his frustration, unaware that this time it's serious.—KGF Vissers
