Danni, an eighteen year old girl is imprisoned in a Young Offenders Institution after being found guilty of her third offence of phone (cyber) bullying a younger girl who eventually suffered a breakdown. Although demure and smart during her trial, the judge reveals her real characterTo the court, and she turns on the judge verbally. Brash and cocky when arriving at the prison, she finds that the officers will not respond to herbehaviour, and she has to admit defeat. She is totally humiliated when being dealt with by a new young officer who was ahead of her at school.. she now has to call her Miss Chapman, and submit to a body search by her. She is then told that she will report to staff by her number and surname, which is how she will be referred to. Given prison clothes marked HM PRISONS, T shirts, tracksuit bottoms, dungarees, and gym kit forCompulsory PE periods. She is issued with a plastic plate and bowl, two plastic beakers, and plastic spoon and fork. No china or knives as these can be broken and used as offensive weapons. She sees her number and name on the cell door and is totally crushed. A nobody, just a number!Word is released of her crime and whereabouts to the gang of violent inmates who keep order on the cell wing with the Senior Officers unofficial blessing. They despise cyber bullies, call it a cowards crime, hiding behind a phone to cause a younger girl such misery. She is regarded as an abuser, much the same as a child beater; and from then on is subject to a string of attacks and bullying from the gang. All inmates shun and ignore her. She has nobody to talk to and is 'set up' time and again by the gang and is punished for perceived bad behaviour by the Governor, including time in the dreaded Isolation block; locked up for 23 hours per day, one hour exercise and no contact with anybody. The tiny cell just contains a mattress and a toilet.Eventually, due to a misunderstanding, she receives a savage beating which takes her to the edge.
