Synopsis

The film begins with an officer telling a fellow officer about Diwakar, a mute yet perfect sharpshooter who became a psychopath after he was humiliated by the boys in his neighborhood due to his not winning gold medal in a big competition. The boys even burnt down his house, killing his parents and brother, making Diwakar gather and kill all of them brutally. Soon, the officer, who used to live in the same neighborhood and even used to play chess with him, admitted Diwakar to an asylum. In the present day, another psychopath named Charlie, also admitted by the same officer, has ran away from the asylum and plans to leave the country. In order to catch him, Diwakar is hired despite of the doctor's warning not to include him as another violent shock might reinstate his killer instinct, given that he's been nearly reformed. Diwakar is called in Haridwar, informed not to use a gun and is sent to Nainital, where Charlie is expected to be hiding.

Diwakar goes to Nainital and while travelling, he sees some people following him. Soon, he confronts one of them and engages into a fight. He texts the officer that the people following him might be the henchmen of Charlie and further asks about future attacks. Soon, he is warned of more attacks and another henchman tries to strangle him. Diwakar manages to fight him off and kills him by strangulation. His killer instinct starts to return, due to this being his first killing after near-reformation. He gets an anonymous call and he bravely challenges the caller. The next day, he trains himself to fight by developing his own combat moves. Another henchman attacks him and Diwakar manages to defeat him very easily, but gets stabbed by another.

Later that evening, he gets a message from Charlie to partner with him in order to avoid getting killed by his lookalike henchmen. Diwakar also receives the sketch of a severely wounded man. He texts the officer expressing his inability in catching Charlie, given that getting stabbed has affected him badly. He tries to train himself further, but the pain doesn't let him do so. Diwakar begins to lose hope and walks around, stopping to look at the mountains. Soon, there is an unexpected change in his character as he returns and begins to practice his combat moves with more energy. He texts the officer, telling him about Charlie's lookalike henchmen and in response, the officer asks him to return. Later, the officer confirms that Charlie has left the country.

Upon reaching Kathgodam railway station, Diwakar waits for his train and in the meanwhile, goes to an overhead bridge where he has an illusion, causing him to run to the platform. It turns out to be nothing and he continues to wait for the train. Upon boarding it, he has another illusion and attacks someone in imagination. The next day, he arrives in Haridwar and while driving, he is chased by some people. A big chase ensues, after which Diwakar reaches home along with the officer. The officer hands over a letter approving Diwakar's execution on the completion of his mission, while actually due to his being unable to complete it. Diwakar surprises him by signing as Charlie and speaking, revealing himself to be Charlie and not Diwakar. He breaks into a fight and stabs the officer, strangulating and nearly killing him, before stopping and proceeding to tell him the truth.

While Diwakar had been looking at the mountains, Charlie had stabbed him to death. Since he had already got similar face and clothes, he easily took his place. After telling everything, Charlie kills the officer. Soon, via sticky notes in his notebook, he is contacted by a person who also happens to have placed the same sketch Charlie handed to Diwakar. While prepping, Charlie fights another henchman, killing him. He then goes to the ground at night, where he is stabbed and further finds out that the attacker is the same fellow officer, actually a young man, to whom the main officer had narrated the story of Diwakar. Seeing that he too has taken the similar face, Charlie reveals that the story was fake and that Diwakar was never a good person. Whatever the officer told was actually Charlie's story mixed up with Diwakar's. Realizing what might happen, Charlie challenges him to kill and enjoy the rain expected to fall the next day. A fight ensues, and both end up nearly killing each other.

The next day, as the rain falls, a hand is shown. Whose hand it is, is not revealed.

In a post credits scene, as the train moves out of Haridwar, the survivor is shown smiling from his seat, with the train passing a bridge and heading to its next stop.
