At a very young age, Victorian aristocrat, Addison Ellery fell in love with magic. She decides to trek across the pond to the slums of New York City to pursue a career in show business. After many failed attempts of making it on her own, she meets Olivia Albini who admires Addison's resilience and becomes her biggest (and only) fan. After being rejected by theater after theater, Addison dons a new persona and acquires a very enthusiastic assistant. Together they set out to defy the odds to prove that there are in fact, lady magicians.
