Summaries

Based on the story of Major Shaitan Singh, who was awarded the Param Vir Chakra posthumously for his 'C' company's dig-in at Rezang La pass during the Sino-India conflict of 1962.

India was faced with the uphill task of protecting it's territory against a battle-hardened 'Red Army'. But even as the Chinese attacked in huge numbers, they were surprised at the determination of a small company of soldiers to try and stop wave after wave of Chinese soldiers led by Chinese Field Commander, General Zhang Guohua, determined to teach India 'A lesson'.—Pankaj Sehgal

20th October, 1962: Unable to come to terms on a boundary dispute with India, China launched an attack across over 3000 km of McMahon Line, the line of control between India and China. Caught unawares, India needed to buy time while it prepares to defend it's key territory in Ladakh and NEFA. The 'C' Company of Kumaon 13, under their fearless leader PVC Major Shaitan Singh, fought an unbelievable battle against all odds, and created grounds for a legendary story, that was instrumental in Times magazine's statement that 'The fighting has shown that the Indians need nearly everything, except courage.'

18th November, 1962: Under equipped 'C' Company of 13 Kumaon has been given a singular command: "Stop the Chinese Incursion into India". But can 123 soldiers, at bone freezing temperatures and at an altitude where life is scarce stop a well-equipped Chinese army determined to teach India 'A lesson'?
