The story of a woman named Sunanda, bound by myth and the traditions which forces her to leave her struggling family behind and become the "Devamma" a position based on a mythical legend who is responsible for bringing rain to the village.

Story revolves around a fictionally assumed village somewhere in Kannur district of Kerala. People of the village worship "Devamma", which is a position assigned to unmarried women based on an old myth. Once Devamma physically ages she selects a new woman on a random basis from the same village. Thereby selected Devamma should get detached from her family taking the responsibility of the whole village. During early summers every year, usually, the bird 'Pullu' comes to this village henceforth commencing the traditional temple festival, wherein Devamma performs the Theyyam, which is The Dance of the Gods, bringing rainfall to the village. The belief is that rainfall happens only if Devamma performs the sacred dance "Theyyam ". As global warming and drastic climate changes are affecting everything will this happen again? Sunanda, bound by myth and traditions, being selected as New Devamma struggles to cope up with the mythical legend responsible for bringing rain to the village.
