Ahmed (Turhan Bey), captain of the Emir's guards in 18th century Algiers, and the Princess Nadja (Gloria Grahame) are kidnapped by Bedouins acting under the orders of Grand Vizier Firous (Cesar Romero), so he can pose as her savior. Nadia and Ahmed escape and take refuge in the Casbah, the haven of outcasts.
