Laura is a photographer by profession, she is married to Roland, a doctor, and they have a son. Then Roland dies in a car accident in Africa. After some time Laura is approached by a stranger who asks for help and reveals that her husband has actually been killed. Then realizing that he is being followed, he gives her a negative and flees to be immediately hit by a car. After printing the photo, Laura identifies one of the men portrayed: it is Santos, Portuguese, owner and untouchable since the time of the Salazar dictatorship. Laura decides to find out the truth about her husband's death and this decision will take her around the world and will put her in danger of life several times.—Baldinotto da Pistoia
