Synopsis

This movie is based on the book & true story of Dr. Marc Benhuri, an Iranian Jew who worked to counter oppression after the 1979 Islamic Revolution. It also depicts former President Reagan meeting with outgoing advisors to President Jimmy Carter, and their conflict to free the 52 American hostages in Tehran. The movie, which is sort of an Iranian version of Schindlers List, tells the story of Marc Benhuri, also known as Victor Daniels, who emigrated to the U.S. at 18, and had built up an industrial empire in Iran when the Shah was in power. Actor Navid Negahban (Homeland) plays Daniels. Benhuri, who wrote the book on which the movie is based, said he felt compelled to tell his story because, in his view, news media reports about the Shah's regime were inaccurate.
