Kajiwara Shigeru, a part-time worker at a dubious health food firm, gets into the good graces of its president, a ringleader in the criminal underworld, and is placed in charge of a dummy company. His new job entails "disposing" of individuals who the president deems unnecessary.
At a shady health food company in Shimbashi, part-time employee Kajiwara is left behind when the other staff takes off with the companys money. Brought before The Boss, the president of parent company Give Me Money, in a skyscraper towering over Shimbashi, Kajiwara is commanded to recover the funds alone. He makes back half a billion yen owing in record time and earns the favor of The Boss. Charged with cleaning up Japan, Kajiwara is made the president of dummy health food company, Present For You.
But The Boss is a man who doesnt believe in love and sneers at people who so much as trust each other.Under the guise of cleaning up Japan, he dictates people he doesnt like to be sent to Kajiwaras office in a bag for disposal.
One rainy night, the present delivered to Kajiwaras office is missing federal politician, Muneoka, a man who sees politics only as a tool to be used. The disappearance of Muneoka and famous actress, Yuki, causes an uproar.Kajiwara has been given the job of disposing of Muneoka, but in reality he has helped orchestrate the disguise and escape of all but the first of the presents he received. He always ends up being moved to save these presents by their stories - they are just as unfortunate as everyone else. To this end, Kajiwara enlists the help of his friends in the town to elude the surveillance of Kaburagi, The Boss right-hand man, and help Muneoka escape.
However difficult their lives, however weak and susceptible to sorrow they are, these are people who hold love and hope for their friends in their hearts.Their harsh town doesnt give them much love.And, in truth, they dont really care what happens here today. That they were there is enough.
