Started as an ordinary story between a tailor and an insurance investigator, the action soon turns into a biblical drama of the eternal theme of the Last Judgment.

A Jew from Russia - Avdon Moskowitz, who emigrated to America after being released from the concentration camp in 1945. Avdon miraculously survived the horrors of the Holocaust, but lost his wife and two younger children, who were shot before his eyes by the Nazis. And all that was left of him was the eldest son, whom he had sent to his uncle in New York before the war. Years later, Uncle's tailor workshop was left to Avdon. At firs things were going well, but in recent years, Avi unsuccessfully tries to get out of the half-miserable position without unbending his back from the sewing machine. All that can allow him to stay afloat is insurance. One day, an unknown man in black cloak appears on the threshold of the Moskowitz workshop. Having introduced himself as an agent of an insurance company, he makes a strict condition before Avdon - either now he is doing a so-called interview, and Avi honestly answers all his questions, or there's no any insurance anymore. At some point, a simple interview turns into a real interrogation.
