Sethulakshmi ,who is money minded and greedy wants her eldest son, prashanth (ashwin) to get married to a girl from a rich family. But prasanth loved divya , a middle-class family girl and married her. She is tortured by her greedy mother-in-law sethulakshmi for dowry. In between these conflicts with many twists and turns, could divya and prashanth stand up to sethulakshmi and lead a happy married life, forms the rest of the story.
