A story about a group of Russian boys who have lost their fathers in the World War II.

Writer Aleksey Bartenev returns to the city where he spent his childhood. He grew up in an orphanage, as his parents died during the war, when he was not even a year old (his father died at the front, his mother hanged herself). Aleksey really wants to find his two brothers, whom he does not remember at all. He finds the address and fate of his relatives in the archive.—Bazza the Beast
