The young doctor Evgeni offers the student girl Magda a spare ticket for the concert. A week later, the young couple goes to the skiing vacation. Three month later, they fall out, as Magda believes that Evgeni is hopelessly indecisive. He leaves for a small miner village. At first, he refers even the easiest cases to the town hospital. Gradually, Evgeni has to share in the responsibility. Coping successfully with two serious boosts his confidence in his own strength and skills. People trust him.
