Synopsis

P L A N OAV ArtWork by Anna StereopoulouBased on Anna Stereopoulou's «X» sound composition;Part of her SYN ~ Cymatic Environment©Under the Aegis of the Greek National Tourism Organization [2019]

Set in an undefined time and location, PLANO functions in a non-conventional mode of filmmaking, where Sound and Image run with reverse roles, challenging the Spectator to choose and focus on one or more of the various Stories of its complex Scenario as multiply layered through Sound.PLANO is offering an Artistic format of (self-)psychoanalysis, or else, an hypnagogic medium - vehicle which creates the sense of a greater Cosmos from the one we usually focus on; it invites the spectator within an «X» environment of different types of Waves - Cymata (sound, colour, brain), where conventional Time-and-Space perception is cancelled and set anew.

PLANO is the most developed form of Anna Stereopoulou's project, titled «SYN ~ Cymatic Environment©». It is focusing on the re-activation of Senses by exploring the spatial representation and perception of Silence as Duration, in relation to the preservation of (Human) Nature & Memory, within a Technology-driven Society.

GOAL and Interest of PLANO Screeningsthe Development of Anna Stereopoulou's research on the Therapeutic Properties of Sound and Light/Colour, Sleep / Dreams and Water on the Human Brain and Human Psychology, collecting precious feedback from the audience / spectators.

. In its AUDIO format, the work suggests a new format of Listenings, inspired by various subjects of the Arts & Sciences, such as Acousmatic Music, Echolocation, Film Scoring, Music / Radio Theatre, Ancient Drama, Sound & Art Installations, Ancient Asclepeions, Architecture (The Parthenon), Ancient and later traditional Greek music, Indian Music, Musique Concrète, other.. In both Presentation Formats ('Music Album / Soundtrack / Audio-Film' and 'Film / AV ArtWork'), rather than offering any Answers, PLANO subconsciously invites us to a series of Memories, Visions and Questions, as they are free to be recalled, set and decided, respectively, by each one of the Spectators.
