Synopsis

Truth is what one has, lies are what one creates. But, the truth is often boring. Unhappy with what he has, struggling young graduate Mithu challenges his physical reality and creates an imaginary world in which everything is perfect. This is his way of coping with his daily problems. Instead of facing life, he hides in a cocoon of pretense, making things up in his head, deluding himself it is all true, so that he might live in an alternate universe where he is king. This imaginary world becomes his only source of comfort and sanity.

Unfortunately, his imagination doesnt pay the bills. Mithu is eventually forced to break out of his shell and accept a job that, under normal circumstances, he would never consider, as the job requires the gift of the gab. Purely out of desperation and a need to survive, Mithu teaches himself the skills needed to be successful in his new line of work.

With time he polishes his people skills, but this newfound confidence goes to his head, making him greedy and clouding his judgment. He makes a series of bad decisions, including becoming involved in a scam business and conning numerous people; as well as blackmailing an innocent woman, when he accidentally comes across a potentially damaging video of her on her phone. Thus begins his downwards spiral. No longer recognizing himself and rather than dealing with his problems by rectifying his mistakes, he chooses to revert to his fantasy world and falls into a pattern of lies built purely in his imagination.

Though it seems he may have developed a mechanism for dealing with his economic and other personal crises, his fantasy world will not save him from all the people he has wronged. At one point, he desires to run away, out of fear of everything that has made his life complicated, but where to flee; another street, another city, or another time? He escapes to his childhood, where he feels safest. We never learn if this is reality or more role-playing.
