Despite their different backgrounds, Leonor and Pedro fall deeply in love in their final year of college, but their relationship faces turmoil when Pedro discovers that Leonor's father is the man who abused his childhood friend; Pedro is then left in a coma for five years, only to awaken and find Leonor about to marry another, believing him dead.
