Kathryn runs a restaurant but one night she calls the police after she sees a suspicious man waiting in his car. However Kathryn sees one of the three police officers, Kaleen, assault the man with their sticks and kicking them. Under advice from Jack, the police internal investigator, she tells a court and Kaleen is put on suspension and kept to his rank for the rest of the career. However Kathryn gets weird phone calls, her son is arrested for murder and her teaching husband's career is threatened by checks on his record. All of this is because Kaleen is out for revenge and he plans to use the law and his friends in the police to do it. Kathryn is the owner of a successful cafe/restaurant.. One night as she is leaving alone, she finds a man sitting in a car just outside. She calls the police. When the police arrive one officer, Sgt. Kaleen, breaks the window and drags the man from the car, beating him with his baton. The other officers join him, leaving him for dead. Kathryn witnesses the beating and rings the police and an ambulance. Kaleen is investigated, with Kathryn giving evidence that results in him being suspended and kept to the same rank for life. In the time that follows, Kathryn's family is targeted. Her car is reported as stolen, she receives threatening phone calls in the middle of the night, Kathryn's husband is investigated at work, and her son is arrested for rape and murder. Kathryn works with Jack, the internal relations officer, to get her life back on track.
