When 3 college kids take a summer job its a chance of a lifetime to bartend at a bar in the middle of a lake! The bar has been around for over a hundred years and is presumed by many locals to be haunted, after the owner killed himself many years before. Unfortunately they miss the last boat off the island and are stuck trying to find a way off. As darkness falls, they quickly realize things are very different after hours as they are hunted by the paranormal caretaker.—Fillipe Marabiza
1927 - On Blarney Island in Grass Lake, Illinois, Sammy loses the deed to the island in a poker game against a rival bar owner. Sammy shoots himself in the head afterward. While alone a short time later, an unseen presence attacks the bar owner.
2014 - An unseen presence attacks a couple at the pier.
Mike and his college friends Jerry and Lori arrive at the pier to begin work at the Blarney Island bar, now owned by Mike's cousin Ron. They meet coworker and local girl Ivy before being taken to the island in a boat skippered by Carl. Carl warns the group to avoid being on the island past midnight.
During his work shift, Mike runs into Carl in a storeroom. Mike confesses that in addition to his bartending job, he is also investigating the island's supposed haunting by a spirit known as "The Caretaker" as part of a paranormal research project for school. Carl tries telling Mike that the island is not haunted.
Mike inadvertently insults Ivy as the bartending crew hangs out after hours. The lights go out. An apparition stalks Lori. The group discovers that Andy, the bar's DJ, is on the island with them. Everyone realizes that the boat is no longer at the dock and they appear stranded. Lori sees a ghostly face reflected in the water. Other paranormal activity occurs.
Andy dies while swimming for a boat drifting nearby. Ivy sees the ghost of her dead sister Janet, who warns that The Caretaker is coming. Something pulls Lori into the water and she drowns.
Jerry, Mike, and Ivy hide back in the bar. When doors begin locking on their own, Ivy explains that Janet is trying to protect them from The Caretaker.
Jerry swims to a boat and takes it back to shore. He convinces security guard Becker to return with him, but Becker handcuffs Jerry to the boat's railing because of Jerry's agitated state.
Mike and Ivy break into The Caretaker's locked room. They also find a dead body.
Becker and Jerry arrive at Blarney Island. The unseen presence attacks and kills Becker. Jerry unties the boat from the dock and pushes away from the pier.
Mike and Ivy enter the water and find another dead body. Jerry picks them up in the boat. Carl arrives in another boat. The trio breaks Jerry's handcuffs and they all swim to Carl. Ivy is pulled underwater. Mike goes after her. After Ivy is rescued, ghosts of The Caretaker's victims appear in the water. As the group makes their escape, Carl says that the spirits saved Ivy.
