Sarath, employed by Gunadasa, elopes with Kusum, leading a difficult life in a shanty hut. Kusum starts an affair with Tennyson, but a mistake causes death.

Sarath is employed under Gunadasa in a printing press. He elopes one day with Gunadasa's daughter Kusum. Unable to find employment, the lovers lead a hard life in a shanty hut. Kusum begins an affair with the handsome Tennyson. During a passionate love making session between Sarath and Kusum, a name uttered by mistake will leave one of them dead and the others life shattered.
