The French anthropologist Marcel Lefavre is eaten by cannibals and vanishes in Brazil, living behind his unfinished journal. His unwilling pupil Alberto Lupo, returns to his home country to finish his work and is faced with everything that he had run away from: the power of nature and its essence of life. It is the beginning of his transformation.

Alberto Luppo is a Brazilian writer who has been living in Paris for many years and has since renounced his tropical origins. It is only after a renowned French anthropologist goes missing in Minas Gerais that he feels compelled to go back to his country in order to conduct an investigation into the whereabouts of his old friend.
