To defend his principles and his love, a man faces the divine laws of the village where he lives, but also has to fight his inner demons. And what seems to be a new life of happiness, becomes a labyrinth of jealousy, bigotry, passion and death.
On Brazil's heartland during the late 1970's, after losing his wife in a harsh winter, Thiago (39) and his daughter, Clara (10), arrive at a secluded ranch. There is a country without electricity and isolated from reality, where Otaviano (65) impose a strange religion and Thiago must fight his inner demons. Thiago feels disturbed by the interest of Otaviano by Clara and decides to move to a nearby village. Arriving there, falls in love with Miranda (22), but he find an obstacle to their happiness in Pastor Kurtz (33), Miranda's brother, who is jealous and is challenged in his faith. In pursuit of happiness, Thiago begins to confront those who call themselves representatives of God on earth and what seemed to be a new life of joy, becomes a labyrinth of jealousy, bigotry, passion and death.
